The 14th floor balconies of this commercial building were allowing water to enter the occupied space on the 13th and 12th floors below. Everclear removed the travertine pavers, mortar bed, and concrete below the pavers down to the sheet waterproofing membrane on the structural deck. After all repairs were made to the original membrane the balcony was then cleaned and primed prior to the installation of an additional layer of sheet membrane over the entire balcony. All seams in the sheet membrane were reinforced with liquid membrane. New metal flashing was installed around the perimeter of the balcony. After a 24-hour water test we installed drainage mat and 2” protection board. The paver pedestal system was installed using 2’ X 2’ concrete pavers.
